To love The Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul is the Golden Rule of Christianity, and also of Judaism, the religion that Christianity stemmed from.
But why have you taken

And the rest of your post was spoken like a true Christian , I wouldn't dare argue it's dogma for the spirit and your sincerity shines thru pretty clearly J. Kenyon .

I would add only that the timeline of the Jews is not representative of the timeline of all the people's of the earth , and he whom you call Christ may be called by other names by others . What you call the Laws of God for the Jews , were known long before as "The Dharma" for the Hindu . History is much more than what is written in the Old Testament ...the Veda's are far older than that in an case.

It's easy for the Hindu to accept any legitamate religious belief as the right and correct one though . For there is only truth , which is why the Hindu's could never be overcome by Christianity or overrun by Islam . They already had established their own messiah's , prophets saints and Christs long before,
and after Moses.

Hinduism is the Mother . The Vedas are the eldest written scriptures of man . And they contain much of the mystery.

Christianity and Islam are young by comparison . It is a
very sad statement though , to say there is/was no religion before Christ...it was that "exclusionism" and narrow history that would never allow me to
be a " Christian ", Moslem , or a Jew.

For the term "Religion" means "to know " ?

And I was never fond of the persecution and misunderstandings caused by such dogma , though it's intent was meant to be liberating . But what is symbolic and most important is the example . I just look farther back than you for my examples to those that lived longer and taught
more lucidly and clearly .

Long as you are seeing God everyday , that's all that matters right ?

(oops , I wasn't going to talk of Dogma ...oh well.)

;-)

Oh , here was that quote from HG Wells I was looking to post to you ...in "The Three Greatest men in History":

"In the Buddha you see clearly a man, simple, devout, lonely, battling for light, a vivid human personality, not a myth. He too gave a message to mankind universal in character. Many of our best modern ideas are in closest harmony with it. All the miseries and discontents of life are due, he taught, to selfishness. Before a man can become serene he must cease to live for his senses or himself. Then he merges into a greater being. Buddhism in different language called men to self-forgetfulness 500 years before Christ. In some ways he was nearer to us and our needs. He was more lucid upon our individual importance in service than Christ and less ambiguous upon the question of personal immortality."

The Poet Tagore calls Him the Greatest Man ever born.

In admiration of the Buddha, Fausboll, a Danish scholar says -- "The more I know Him, the more I love Him."

A humble follower of the Buddha would modestly say:

The more I know Him, the more I love Him;
the more I love Him, the more I know Him.

sound familiar ?

And the other quote from HG Wells I was also looking for , quite dramatic in it's appraisal of modern
human condition :

But in these plethoric times when there is too much
course stuff for everybody
and the struggle for life
takes the form of competitive advertisment
and the effort to fill your neighbor's eye,
there is no urgent demand either for
personal courage, sound nerves, or stark beauty...
We find ourselves by accident.
Always before these times the bulk of people
did not over eat themselves, because they couldn't,
whether they wanted to or not, and all but a very few were kept fit by unavoidable exercise and personal danger.
Now , if he only pitch his standard low enough and keep free from pride, almost anyone can achieve a form of excess.
You can go thru contemporary life fudging and evading , indulging and slacking, never really hungry nor frightened nor passionately stirred....your highest moment a mere sentimental orgasm, and your first real contact with the primary and elemental necessities,
the sweat of your death-bed.

~H G Wells

you were asking if there was something more ?

Well Said!!

>>Everything Christ did during His time on earth had already been seen from the beginning of recorded time through the Jews. The law of the Jews was merely a tool used by God to show His people how much they truly needed Him. This golden rule you speak of is not the foundation of the Christian faith. To love The Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul is the Golden Rule of Christianity, and also of Judaism, the religion that Christianity stemmed from. That is why Christ said that He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. My point in this is that, there was no religion before Christ, because Christ is from the beginning. Any talk of love comes directly from the source, which is Christ, and He is the one to whom all credit is due. Man can look at nature an observe what the principle laws are. Karma is an example of this. What you give out, is returned in increasing measure. However, this is the same as you reap what you sow. Sow a crop of righteousness and that is what you reap. Christ is religion. There is nothing apart from Him. He has been here, amongst the people of the world from the dawn of time. Without Him there would be no love, and there would be no life.>>

And I am receiving what you say without any need for conditions, labels and limits for ALL comes from Him, by Him and is for Him, in Him and with Him.

Every individual that throws him or herself into Hell here in this world and then in the spiritual world beyond is making a FREE choice based on what he/she wills to love which is conjoined in unity with what they understand as being true.

If a LIE is twisted into somehow being received as TRUTH then this should naturally lead to the manifestation of "effects" in our world which leave an audit trail which either prove "what works" or "what doesn't work".

The truth, light and Love of our Lord simply works!!

And none of us can claim ONE IOTA of credit for any of it!!

Period!!

For all His truth, all His light, all His life, all His Love is FREE, unconditional and PERFECT. Our ONE Lord God in Heaven Jesus Christ is in everything, with everything, by everything and is for everything. He is the wind beneath our wings, the laughter in our voice, the song in the trees and the dance in our steps. He is the manifestation of perfect happiness and love.

All you have to do is look into the eyes of a baby child to see the stars of the Kingdom of Heaven shining brightly!

It's that simple.

119293!!
