Good explanation -- that makes sense. Even if it did e.g. run at 2 GHz, it wouldn't make much sense to brag about that since the P4 has already surpassed that clock-speed. BTW, I think AMD shouldn't give too much information out too early. It's a good thing to keep Intel somewhat in the dark about performance... Just remember how surprised they were when the first real Athlon benchmarks appeared.
