It still does not mean that it will be so fast. It could take 2 years. Something could always go wrong. I suspect, however, that Elmer was just being prickly or jokey about it, at least a little bit. I wouldn't be all that shocked if we didn't see grey market parts until the second half of next year, though (I'm personally expecting late Q1 to mid Q2, but you never know). I still think (hope?) that Hammer's intro will be smoother than athlon's, especially on the infrastructure side. Support for AMD's platform and relations with the main chipset and mobo players aren't at the same state than they were in august '99. And this time AMD will have a stronger mid to low-end product in the athlon. I'm pretty much optimistic for Q4 availability. In time for Christmas? I would guess AMD will do the possible to make it happen. Max
