Art: In the scale of priorities out there, it would seem that making it possible to continue to use TDMA into the future is low on the scale. Much lower than making the bridge between GSM and CDMA, since GSM is worldwide and a huge installed base - compared to TDMA which is much more limited.

As a practical matter, the TDMAers will be on a path through GSM or CDMA anyway.

So GSM1x makes great sense - if any GSM carrier will bite.

Agree that best bet is in Asia, and China in particular.

Time will tell.
