It was inevitable for stagflation to come to a recession. That one was Carter's. The precipitous divestiture of military assets and insistence upon raising taxes, lead by Congressional Democrats twisting HW's arm to get agreement, led to the next recession. Score two for the Democrats. Third, this economy was tanking at the end of the Clinton Administration, due to the high- tech bubble bursting, the transfer of public debt to the private sector, and the appearance of resolute obstructionism on the part of Senate Democrats. Score three recessions for the Democrats........
