Oh yeah, there was a lot of weeding out of the bible. First, the old testament was jetizoned since it contains so many inaccuracies & advocates such cruel treatment of women. Then, each newly created Protestant religion edited the bible down to suit its purposes. What do we call that today?.....oh yes, revisionist history. In this case, revisionist parables would be more accurate.
