"Won't be long before the announce they are going to just launch GSM/GPRS on that spectrum!"

I think that is highly unlikely.

If that's the case then it won't take long for GSM1x to set the fire.

China is watching, India is watching, the world is watching. I don't give a damn if the Euros wanna set themselves back to the stone age because very soon that will not matter anyway.

pcstel - I bet they are going to deploy 802.11 in Germany and not even bother with 3G. Basically Europeans don't need broadband mobile.

Best,

pcstel- GPRS on 3G spectrum... if the license requirements were rescinded and the governments were complicit in the elimination of the public's right to access third gen mobile services, would the increased spectrum enable GPRS to carry, say, full fledged MMS? Message 16946162

I'd guess the clarity of the defeat would reverse such a decision within a year and accelerate the transition to CDMA.
