Oh dear, fatigue is setting in. Maybe you should make a quick trip to the store for ONE cold one. The cold air and activity will wake you up.

That guy you mentioned lives under a rock. They talk in circles about nothing. Agree with him and then use your own best judgment! I had my share of talking with them in my career.

Good luck!

Oh joy... the Corporate Safety person..

I'm with Peach. Agree and then turn on ignore... (o:

Well, we're still *with* you... waiting to see how it all goes.

I spent much of my day by myself...just driving around in the upper Ottawa Valley. Stopped at a cheese factory up there to buy a 5-lb. block of cheddar and some local honey. Shot quite a lot of footage along the banks of the Mississippi R (our northern one, that is), and the Indian River near a 150+ year old stone mill. Hiked around in a forest up there for close to 2 hours. It was 50 F. and just started to rain as I was ready to pack up and come home around 4 p.m. Very odd weather for this time of the year, but I'm sure as heck not gonna complain about it. Anything to make the snow and ice go away and the rivers be ready for canoeing a.s.a.p.

Well, hope you're hanging in there okay. (o:

Cone 8 is completely down on the top peep hole.

Can't make out much on the lower onbes, I think they are down.
Cone 9 on top is also damn close to down also. And I can't see my cone 10. When I put it in, I must have backgrounded that part with a piece and it all blends together.

Anyhow, pyrometer says only 2000F, but I definitely have a yellow color in there. Opened the flue almost completely after last post. That did the trick bringing up the temp.
I just put it into a decent reduction. Still have blue flames from flue, but mixed with orange flame. Have orange flame from peep holes and cracks in the roof here asnd there(that's fine).

I'm about 60 feet away from the kiln, here in another room where the tele line is, and it sounds like a tornado is roaring in the back ground.

I'm pretty confident I am really vclose to a cone 10 by now(time considered typing this. I will leave it in a reduction and increase it(reduction) ever so slightly until I begin to lose temp. Than I'll open it up a tad to keep the temp steady, keep a reduction going for about another hour or so than turn the burners on low for about 10 minutes.
Shut off gas, cose the flue and all port holes and go home drink a beer and GO TO SLEEP! Today is what? tuesday evening? okay, I will then plan on opening it Thursday morning,/afternoon.

Hopefully no more snafu posts :)))))))))
