I find the possibility of 3g launching anytime, anywhere - highly unlikely.

Kind of an ironic post considering SK Telecom expanded 1xEV-DO service to Seoul yesterday (about a quarter of total POP's in Korea). They will expand to 26 more cities in time for the World Cup in May.

Docomo will have 60% of Japanese POP's covered by the end of March.

All of the above assumes you dont count 1xrtt as 3G....probably about 6 million total subs as of today.
