Hawkmoon,

Your article points out another example of "blowback". The U.S. has been such a pervasive and consistent liar in the world's LDCs that they'll not believe anything we say any more. The ill-conceived "Office of Strategic Influence", which Rumsfeld claims to have ended today is just the U.S. getting caught lying in its latest iteration. Of course, we will simply change the name and keep the office in "black" ops for a while. We are so fr*cking cynical it is astonishing. The world understands this hypocrisy. It's not as if we do a good job at lying. It is only the American public that seems intent on self-bamboozlement.

As to my "anti-establishmentarianism", here's a post worth paying some attention to. Not for my words, but for those of our former Ambassador to France, Felix Rohatyn:

Michael Moore can always make me laugh: "Bill Clinton was one of the best Republican presidents we've ever had."

Hahahaaa! He nailed it.
