Albert,

re: it is all in timing. Would it make any sense to build fabs in 70s for use in 90s? It is a streatch to say that that would save time and money.....

I never remember Intel over shooting the market, only underestimating it.

re: Overcapacity is not good for intel and for the industry.....

So then why do you believe Intel is building overcapacity? You think these guys are idiots? They've been driving the industry for years, and have been pretty close to right on (with one exception). So suddenly Albert knows better?

re: In the environment that we are in right now lower margin is an advantage.

Huh?!? Don't bogart that joint, Albert.

re: "By what definition?"

Intel's employee's are more productive and efficient. I didn't even mention Intel's net profit per employee, which is just short of $15,000. AMD's is negative.

re: maybe if you look it over long period of time but over the last 2-3 years amd managed to create a lot of problem for intel on much smaller budget. I'd say they have better cost control than intel.

When did that start Albert? Wasn't it when Intel under invested in capacity? Doesn't look like they are going to repeat that mistake.

re: we have currently 140 mil chips per year with most of the world not been able to afford the same number of computers per person as in US. Draw your own conclusions here.....

We'll see.

re: not familiar with that one but I am familiar with ak47 very well. And I could not believe the stupidity of those who used the gun as a hunting rifle even in it's semi form. Yes it is stable and easy to shoot and yes it can kill a deer when it's moving from about 1500 feet away and then kill few rangers and fellow hunters as well.

Skeet shooting is even more cruel.

John

Intel's customers aren't complaining about it.

Are MAD's customers complaining about it?
