Jabil Circuit To buy Scotland Plant From Compaq

ST. PETERSBURG , Fla. -(Dow Jones)- Jabil Circuit Inc. (JBL) agreed to acquire the Ayr, Scotland , facility of Compaq Computer (NYSE: CPQ - news) Corp. (CPQ).

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Wednesday, circuit board assemblies maker Jabil said about 240 Compaq employees in Ayr will become Jabil employees.

Additional information about the employees wasn't immediately available.

Jabil will acquire the building and other assets that comprise the Compaq facility, including equipment required to build, test, handle and ship the server printed circuit board assemblies made in Ayr.

Jabil and Compaq plan to form a three-year supply agreement designating Jabil as the sole and exclusive manufacturer of Ayr manufactured server product subassemblies and future products. Jabil also will serve as a "strategic global supplier" to Compaq.

NW -- I have hopes to see it in the 10 range again. Yersterday was its big drop. Time for moderate drops now. Played the drop & pop from 12.5 to 13.5,, but that was a fast one,, going down again.
