ORLANDO, Fla. -- Conexant Systems Inc. here at a photography trade show demonstrated a Bluetooth-enabled digital still camera platform. The digital camera platform is the first to include support for wireless transmissions via Bluetooth connections, said the Newport Beach, Calif., company.

Conexant said its comprehensive solution combines a camera processor, baseband controller and Bluetooth radio as well as all the necessary firmware for capturing and transmitting images from the digital camera to Bluetooth-enabled systems. These systems could be PCs, printers, mobile phones, and other portable devices.

"The Internet continues to transform the way people capture, store and share digital images," said John Gerard, director of marketing for Conexant's Digital Imaging Group. The demonstration of the platform was held at this week's Photo Marketing Association (PMA) conference in Orlando.
