Brushwud, Re: "I've also observed that you think it will need 4-way & 8-way chipsets"

Might I correct you on your "observation"?

I still find it funny when press articles call Hammer competition for Itanium, even though the two are in an entirely different class. I made this point here

Message 17117692

by saying that 4- and 8-way chipsets from AMD's regular 3rd party crowd, even if they were working on them (and so far there is no indication that they are), are not going to have sufficient levels of features and platform support to gain the interest of OEMs selling high end enterprise systems. I know this because I work in this field. For you, I will assume you do not know what are are talking about, especially since you said the following in your response:

"Then if you still don't get it, study the diagrams on slides 41-43, which spell out "Glueless Multiprocessing: 2-way/4-way/8-way". And try not to cry in your beer."

LMAO, Brush - AMD's "Glueless Multiprocessing" is not going to be as easy as stringing together a bunch of CPUs, and *presto* - 4- and 8-way systems. You must be either joking or ignorant if you can look at their PowerPoint slide, and make such an obtuse statement.
