Well, I suppose we could think of a lot of circumstances where this might be Draconian, as in needing to borrow a cup of a sugar. I didn't mean a specific invitation for each call or visit. Presumably friends would have standing invitations and they would know the appropriate parameters, like which hours their friends are likely to be asleep. And for acquaintances, there's still the "Y'all stop by and visit whenever you're out our way" if you are receptive to people just dropping by. I had in mind not calling or visiting unless you had a reasonable expectation that your call or visit would be welcome, not cutting off social interaction. Karen
