Looks like the U.S. needs a better PR agency in the ME.

Y'know.. Actually it probably wouldn't matter anyway..

After all, the flow of information is enourmous coming out of the US, but it's bottlenecked by censorship in those target nations.

But programs such as the VOA, and possibly making US humanitarian assistance contingent upon friendly relations with the nations receiving it, might be the answer. Those nations which constantly opt to paint US actions in a negative light will be classified as "hostile" and the foriegn aid and trade spigots shut off.

Those that show at least some level of objectivity in understanding US policies, receive preferential treatment in trade and aid.

We do that here at home all the time... If we don't like the corporate policies of a company, we boycott them until they change their attitudes.

As it stands right now, it's similar to the relationship we once (still?) have with Latin America, where they have one hand out, and are flippin' us the bird with the other.
