If you really believed that the Bible was the inspired Word of God then you would have no trouble seeing my 1 Timothy 2 and raising me a Galatians 3:28. Then I would trump you with a Genesis 3:6-16.

An alternative is to recognize that the Bible, like any historical document, has to be taken in context. We should not use the Bible to tell us how to treat slaves.
