cfoe: Yes this is another reminder that the "regulators" of the world are a hurdle for the most efficient and effective use of CDMA. Unfortunately the regulators and politicians are often "beholden" to the incumbent telecom (legacy) providers - viz the way the Bells/AT&T seem somehow to be most favored in the US. The battle in India to permit WLL is another example. But perhaps the most obvious and extreme is the EU exclusion of CDMA in current spectrum.

Then there are the "standards" bodies.

Ah well, what is amazing has been the ability of Qualcomm "to overcome".
