Well, Ken, I'M FEELING VINDICATED. Marie Bremmer of Vanity Fair has just confirmed what I posted on here late last month (Jan 25th to be exact---see quoted post exchange below between me and Alex)...that Enron's problems were known back at least in 1986-87. At least that was when I was warned out of taking a position in their stock by the then savvy broker, Joe Brown, owner of Brown-Church Securities, of Wichita KS.

Most on this thread didn't believe me, Ken.

Marie just told Kudlow and Kramer in a live interview based on her copyrighted reporting that Kudlow praised (shock shock) that ENRON was branded as a rogue and renegade outfit clear back from a busted "India coal/oil/gas" deal as early as 1985 that was making the then accountants wag and cluck.

It pays to listen to old wags like you and Joe, Ken. Keep up the good work. At least you sleep well at night!

Alex, that was a good story on Enron. But you know what gets me? If folks just talk
to RETIRED brokers from back in the early to mid 80's they would learn that
ENRON was a house of cards then.

The stink on this one is so old...

Sure appreciate a certain caring old fart named Joe Brown and his lovely
wife/broker, Carol Brown of Brown-Church Securities in Wichita KS for warning
me away from ENRON back in '86-87!

Thanks Joe...this Nugget's fer you and Carol!

cheers!
