he lets himself get bogged down in attacks on Hillary Clinton, Daniel Bell, and Benjamin Barber. When you have Anna Quindlen and Norman Mailer, two leading lights of the Literary left, making such asses of themselves in print, it is hard not to respond. And Hillary goes to a Swiss Resort to denounce "Consumerism"! Bell and Barber are members of the Left Aristocracy that loves to denounce the "Trailer Trash", when they finally get enough money to buy the same appliances that those two already have. Charles Paul Freund is a film maker who spent several years as an editor for the Outlook section of the Washington Post, and wrote a weekly column for New Republic. Reason is able to get very good writers.
