>>>they won't make it because their market is shrinking. <<<

do you actually belive this? Most that own cisco here believe their market is expanding and that is the reason to be in the stock. They are gaining share not losing it afterall.. unless you're one of those that thinks the internet has peaked?

Hey I agree with you on the options. I've publicly stated here on the thread that Cisco gives out too many. It's causing dilution. However, your assertions that Cisco isn't branching out is ludicrous. They have the most breadth of any networking company. They are number 1 or 2 in almost every segment they compete in. They are constantly pioneering entire new segments, like IP telephony. Check out their IP phones that are selling like hot cakes. They are currently branching out into new and potentially very lucrative segments like IP telephony, Voice over IP, Storage Area Networks, Metro Optical, VPN/Security, etc. Yes some of their markets are shrinking, because guess what, we've been in a recession. But some are actually increasing like WLANs and IP Phones. So I have no illusions about the networking industry, but I also know that Cisco is the 900 pound gorilla and is making mince meat out of their competitors. There are some things to improve, but across the board cuts just to prove a point is using a nuclear bomb when a laser guided missile would suffice.
