Hi Ted:

Sorry I havent been around much... the Olympics and all and other stuff... I saw your thing to me about the French judge.. hilarious.... she's changing her story every othe day... after swearing an affidavit that she was pressured to vote for the Russians by her own French federation, she's now going by the tune that big bad Canada pressured her to vote for our figure pairs. she has zero credibility, and figure skating isnt far behind her if they dont make major reforms to their system.

Oh.. and I should just state I am relieved we won the gold medal in hockey.. else the country would have gone on a suicide watch... that being said.. even I underestimated the importance of this game - the love of it, and yes, beating the US had... Downtown Toronto and more specifically, Yonge Street.. the busiest street around; had absolutely no traffic or people on it before and during gametime... it was like a ghost town..

After we won, Hundreds of thousands of people went out on the streets in Toronto ... and thousands did likewise across the country.. and were still partying past midnight.. on a SUNDAY night with work the next day. Picture a city winning a World Series in baseball and applying that to every city and town in Canada.. it was awesome.. I was proud to be a Canadian. It was nice to see that we as a nation, known for its reserved and quiet behaviour, can also on occasion, rise up and be as patriotic as its southern neighbour.
