Les, those synthetic leases are only the tip of the iceberg wait until the real derivatives must be also disclosed including the put on their own stocks on the various currency and commodity forwards / futures and option. Most banks and international corporation will not be as "risk free" as many think.

Urban Legend? Bulletin: Alaska Tip Line It is not often that I will report things on this site without "second sourcing" but I just got word from one of my sources in Alaska. (Remember, I worked up there in the late 60's as a tech-rep for RCA, so I know a few folks in a few places...) Elmendorf AFB (Anchorage area, next door to Ft. Rich) reportedly will be down to emergency patients only in the April-May timeframe. The Third Medical Group that had been serving there is being moved to Kuwait according to sources. What has been 20+ F-15's at the base are down to 4 or so... A source from Valdez reports that a search is on for a person of Middle East appearance who had maps of Alyeska Pipeline Pump Stn. 12 (60 miles or so from Valdez). The Coast Guard in the Valez area is on high alert because (a second hand report has it that) Middle East looking people without fishing gearhave recently tried to rent boats in the Valdez area.
