While I agree Daschle is a jerk and a real impediment to get the economy moving again as he attacks the republicans any way he can, I don't think he is the guy slowing down the broadband dereg bill which I think would be a big win for Cisco... The stonewall on this one is Ernest Hollings (D., S.C. ) who has promised to bottle up the measure he strongly opposes...

This bill would hurt some of the surviving data-lecs... are there any left? and CLECs. It's good for the RBOCs and especially good for CSCO and I would go further to say it's good for all those Americans stuck without a broadband connection...
