That's "'bated breath." or 'bated breath,' a contraction of abated breath. Unless of course you have something dead in your mouth in hopes of attracting critters into your trap. Then it's baited breath.

A good cure is hydrogen peroxide if you are merely afflicted with halitosis. Much better than sugared mouthwashe
