Monica,

>Sun will release two types of blades this year: those using Intel chips and the Linux operating system, and those using Sun's UltraSparc chips and its Solaris operating system, said Colin Fowles, director of Sun's blade business team.

Nice find, albeit not exactly for the home team here! These, being blade servers à la what RLX and Compaq have pioneered, are a different server animal from what Sun talked about, was it last week, in which they'd use X86 processors. Sun has to use Intel (vs. any chance for AMD) for these blades for power reasons, somebody said until Barton, but I haven't seen any Barton very low power specs.

Monica, Well, I am sure work goes on inside Sun, as Tony says, heat dissipation is paramount in blades, so AMD needs lower heat parts or possibly a laptop part needs to be bladed.
