I don't recall the portion of that conversation in which I participated as having this flavor. We were debating whether fascism was voted in. Two counter cases, clearly, were the Spanish and the Chilean cases. Both are coups. And one could easily argue that even the German case was a coup since the vote following the Reichstag fire was, most likely, strongly constrained.

I don't know any of the details of the Italian case.
