What if good and evil are just the things we find good and evil to us? What if the universe just is? What if it exploded from it's point of singularity and what if it will go back to that point when it collapses? What if the universe is merely springing back and forth? big bang to collapse, big bang to collapse? In that case I suspect the universe is very organized, and not at all random, but organized at a level we do not yet (or may never) understand. But I don't want to underestimate us. Good and evil are children's concepts, shorthands for what bothers us, and what does not. You will notice this if you see that some things which bother humans are constant, but those smaller peskier evils change from society to society.

There is, imo, no problem of good and evil- there is a problem for US when our desires to see our needs satisfied by the universe are not met. If we can understand that we are not here to be satisfied by the universe (I know this is a BIG step, and this is the place in the human heart most religions fill) it might help people. It is the way for me- but it may not be the way for everyone. Some people, as I already said, may simply not be wired for any way but the religious way- if that is true, it is hardly fair to criticize them for conforming to biology, any more than it would be fair to criticize or commend me for the way I am.
