Bush SR. "promised" aid to kurds who he called "freedom fighters." His promises motivated many of them to put themselves in the line of fire in support of Kurdish interests and U.S. interests. Those were hollow promises. When Bush was done in the Gulf, he forgot about them, like Reagan did in Afghanistan. Now we're back there, and heading back to Iraq. So explain how Reagan reagan deferred to allies when he exited Afghanistan after the soviet pullout. And how Bush SR deffered to allies by breaking his public promises to kurds in Iraq. Bush's promises to the Kurds was just political jingoism, the same as his son's "axis of evil" comments. It's all jingoism to me.
