We still like the prospects of the CPQ merger, and believe the combined company can earn $1.50 per share in 2003. We are concerned however, that HWP will have trouble unlocking value, if the deal does not go through. Maintain Buy rating.

We believe the combined company would be able to earn $1.50-$2 per share in 2003, compared with $1.30 for HWP by itself. Reiterate Strong Buy rating, based on the success of this merger.

Do you mean the chances of the merger being approved?

My guess is that the merger will be defeated by a very narrow margin.

Nice volume today, may hit 20 million.
Apparently there is some major positioning going on ahead of the ISS decision and the trend is positive.
