I'm sure the psychological stuff is much more harmful and lasts forever. You know the actress who plays the ditsy blond, Phoebe, on Friends? I saw her interviewed once, and she talked about having been suddenly ejected from her group of girlfriends and shunned in high school, and said that it had changed her, made it hard for her to trust anyone, and changed her life, forever. They are sorry now, haha.
