Ed ...
yep .. I traded options for many years ...
matter of fact, I got back into the futures via the back door this time ...

I was trading nearly exclusively OEX options for three-four years a while back ...
then they split and I found the commish was too great a percentage of my available profit ...
so,
mostly due to several threads on SI I got back into the futures ...
where now, once again as I was 30 years ago ... right at home ...... ggggggg

I'll let ya'll stay with the equites ... even though I do plan on trading this year in some in a relatively small way but, for me .... the index futures enable me to make a lot of dinero on a small personal pile ....

I DO comprehend the leverage potential there for disaster,
but
the use of electronic trading has lessened it to a palatable degree of discomfort FOR ME, at any rate.

on options, I made far more money selling them rather than buying them ....
butterflies, straddles, and spreads were methods I used far more than staright buy/sell however ....

futures are much easier and less costly upon making mistakes ....
due to my computer and the Emarket now.
