I wouldn't go shorting these homebuilder stocks right now. LEN and KBH are textbook bullish patterns for breakout stocks making new highs. Their charts are very bullish, in fact they may be buys here. But do your own due diligence and past performance is no guarantee of future success, etc., etc,

The LEN weekly chart shows a very strong uptrend (short this right now at your own peril, look at that MACD crossover)

The KBH chart, a thing of beauty if you're bullish on it. Breaking into new highs and held support at the 50DMA and 200 DMA despite a fairly brisk market selloff("cup with handle", double bottom, breakout with supporting volume, MACD crossover, I could go on and on).

TOL, same thing, nothing but bullish:

Great, great post JP. The median income figures from my area vary - but I can tell you in Long Island it's about 70k in a decent area - and Long Island is one of the most prosperous areas in the nation. A small starter home, is about 250k in the outskirts of Nassau County, but like everywhere else, vary significantly depending on the area; with houses in areas like Great Neck starting at 500k. I doubt the median income is 70k in the area where the cheaper starter homes exist. Everywhere on the Island, the taxes are the killer - on average 5k-6k a year for that type of house.

Most people I know put about 10% down.

A great place to find income surveys in your area is:
