Just in a bio I have on Berkshire and all the reports I have..all of them. It went from 10 to maybe 400. But It was only at about 25 in late 74. Despite all the "conservative" babble, he leveraged enormously in 74 and hung on with the help of his investment bankers. Geico alone went down more than 70% after his buy and his biggest subsidiary the Buffalo News, almost went bankrupt. Obviously it all worked out and the rest is history.
