I wonder how long it will take Q's competitors to bring their chipsets to the same level of integration that Q has in its latest generation of chipsets? That mixed-mode stuff is pretty tricky.

I'm not sure if they are a year behind.

The press release doesnt mention if these chipsets are multi-mode or not. If they are, then they would be about 6 months ahead....if they arent, they would be about 6 months behind. Either way, it is pretty impressive how quickly Qualcomm has gotten into the W-CDMA chipset game.

Has anyone heard what the talk and standby times are for Qualcomm's prototype W-CDMA handset? I would think that this might give us a decent proxy for the comparable levels of integration. There hasnt been much improvement in the models that have been released for FOMA.
