I agree with you...that the "mood" of various SI boards and posters does not represent the average investor.

IMO probably most people who post on SI are actively following the market...and the average investor IMO doesn't follow the daily gyrations in their portfolio balances. Probably quite a few investors have invested in mutual funds, their pension plans, and have not had the responsibility (or the interest) in buying or selling specific securities.

I would think that most successful individuals would invest in several different areas besides the stock market.
