Dear Karen: Oregon lost me as a potential source of revenue with their outlandish income tax on individuals. I am retired, we have no children, we use little of a states resources and have steady investment type income, but we couldnt afford to TITHE to a state. jdn

Not relevant... and dont try to paint me with the Enron brush (not that it's working anywhere else for the left).

I dont believe there should be any earning class (or corporation) not paying taxes.

Most welfare is parasitism, corporate or otherwise.

In Oregon those earning 12k or less per year pay more state taxes (18 percent) than those earning over 100k (12 percent)

Wrong. Check your math: $12,000 x .18 = $2,160. $100,000 x .12 = $12,000. Those who make $100,000 pay nearly six times more state taxes than those who make $12,000.

Is that what they teach in Oregon public schools? Maybe they ought to devote a little more of that $12,000 toward teaching math.

Also, where's your evidence that corporations get "tax rebates on no taxes paid"? I bet there's a little problem with that one, too.
