It's interesting you mention that, because it fits with a pet theory of mine. I think many of the disrupters are actually precocious high school and college kids hiding behind trumped up profiles and looking to build reputations through winning wars of words.

One of the baddest bears on the Cisco thread claimed to be a heavyweight value investor, and lectured endlessly about the parallels with 1929, Japan, Buffettisms, etc. I happened to catch him when he broke character on an obscure thread, and it turns out he had just finished college, hadn't landed a job yet, and was investing with a couple of grand he had received from graduation presents. I think it's admirable that he had an interest in equities and was reading about them, but I hardly think it qualified him as a market guru.
