Brilliant. One could write a very long, excellent book on that topic. I hope you do.

I have the original typewritten essay by a writer I used to love, in which he claimed that the world ended in -- can't remember the year, just that it was World War I -- say 1914 or 1917, does it matter? At any rate, the old world ended in World War I, and the new world had not begun yet, and we were all just grubbing in the rubble.

This was written before the Internet. I think he would have loved the Internet.
