IGIT. If this deal were to come about what would prevent arab suicide bombers from attacking Israel just as they do now. And likely better armed palistinians. Also I think you posted at some point that in the muslim religion it is ok to lie to Jews and infidels.

In that news article I found this statement to be a bit amusing......" It was done "to save Yasir Arafat's bacon," said Zalman Shoval, a Sharon adviser"..... bacon. :o)

Take care
Lorne

IGIT:

The answer is NO (In my humble opinion of course).
The Islamic mentality of the Arab world (or for that matter the Islamic mentality) there can never be peace with those whom you have fighting (especially if the people you have been fighting are considered to be "KAFAR"s, i.e. unbelievers)!

The peace talk on the Arab side is nothing but the torjan horse!

IGIT, The idea presented by Saudi Arabia, makes me wonder just what their game really is. It appears, that regardless of how much they speak of peace being involved, that it is just a ploy to take land away from Israel. That land, especially, should be considered a part of Israel, because the 6 day war resulted from a sneak attack by the Arabs, that was intended to catch the Israelis with their pants down. It could be considered a small version of Pearl Harbor, but it backfired immediately. The saying back then, was that the fastest thing in the world was an Arab tank with it's "back-up" lights on. :^)
