Some of the expensive houses in Palo Alto, Saratoga have
fallen as much as 30 to 40 % as they were financed by option
money. But the pricing of entry level homes in 500 k range
have held up pretty well. (10 to 15 % drop). Anecdotally
I hear that demand is coming back with multiple offers for
houses, nothing like 1999 - 2000 though. Quality of life in
the bay area in terms of commute times, wait in restaurants
has gotten better in the last year.
