I wonder why it's Cheney that's being hidden and not Bush? Why can't Cheney be protected as well as the President? I can think of lots of perfectly valid reasons why things are being done the way they are. Successfully, so far, I might add. It's not rocket science.

You and your friends (like TP) continue to attempt to take a necessary protective measure and color it as cowardice... simply to serve your petty little political agendas... and THAT is gutless. FYI, Jiffy. The policy is not protecting the president or vice president - it is protecting the order of succession against nuclear attack. It was in place well before 9/11 - it was simply raised to a higher level and has been maintained since. I believe it is called the "5 mile rule" (though the radius is now usually required to be greater than 5 miles)... One mag which discussed it in detail was Newsweek (I believe late Oct or early Nov).
