"Rydex numbers are also facing a paradigm shift"...... You could ultimately be proven correct. However, from my experience, the Rydex numbers have not gotten to extremes as at past market bottoms ala Spring 1997, Fall 1998 and this past September 2001. Also, when and if they do reach such extremes, you can't simply look at them in a vacuum but in conjunction with other sentiment indicators which hopefully also will be near levels associated with past bottoms.
