<<How can SD elect such a complete partisian asshole to any office>>

Money from NY and California. Out of state money should be banned.

I think what Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle is trying to do is make the administration more accountable to the American people ... and more open. Lest we forget, even right-wing Rep. Dan Burton thinks this administration is too "imperial." The longer the War on Terrorism is extended, the more it helps the Bush administration achieve its goal of making the presidency more powerful (at the expense of Congress). Daschle is not jeopardizing national security or any such thing. In fact, look for more Republicans to counter the growing Bush-Cheney-Rumsfield imperial presidency by jumping on Daschle's bandwagon.

Actually, if you look at Daschole's record, he barely squeaks into office.

Daschole stays in office by giving rich SD farmers welfare and pretending to the rest that he's not a socialist.

I suspect that Daschole is toast in 2004, whether or not he runs for prez. Daschole ensures the defeat of his prtege Johnson to the better John Thune and Gov Janklw would clobber Daschole if he decides to defeat Daschole.

Daschole looks to many like "Eddie Haskell" but he's really Uriah Heep.
