Yes we are in a rough environment. Maybe it stays bad for 10 years, nobody knows for sure. Old timers tell me there was something like a 16 year period they lived through where the market was basically flat. Or maybe it gets better. There are good growth segments though... and you can actually make money if you are patient and price sensitive.

I have nothing against technical analysis. If it works for you, more power to ya. I have tons of software that runs all sorts of stuff and I play with it daily. I am loaded in 'buy' and 'sell' signals and MACD's and stochastics and volume breakouts and yadda yadda yadda. I try to time short term entry and exit points using some of it. I think it is a useful process. However, charts don't tell you much about the sustainability of above average growth or not and that is what makes great growth stocks...
