Good question. I never pretend to understand the market or its dynamics. My guess is that the last couple of days were fueled by short covering. Mish and Aj have pointed out, there are a lot of puts on the QQQ's which means the Naz is generally shorted pretty heavily. Any sort of rally combined with the options expiration coming up probably caused people to close out their position.
