Actually is was Peter who was personally rebuked by Paul for forcing the traditions and making the church succumb to the law once again. Titus would not be circumcised because he did not want to weaken the teachings that it is no longer by the law but by faith. Peter even mentions the letters and teachings of Paul in his letters, pointing out that what Paul taught is from God and not from man. 2 Peter 3:15 Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
