Bush will keep the idea alive this year. Next year's Republican congress will offer the first real chance. The SS Ponzi scheme will be privatized within ten years, just a sure as the sun will rise. The investment returns in the private sector over the course of anyone's life are indisputable, as is the unfortunate fate of people who put their faith in Ponzi schemes...

Isn't it funny how the Repubs have backed off the Social Security roulette idea since the market has remained stalled?

I've noticed how Republicans have learned just a little bit from Democrats about timing. Without Enron fanning the flames of hysteria, CFR would still be lying in the corner gathering dust.
