I tried to interest this fund manager in Sydney who seems open to new ideas... but when I tried to follow things up he said "I'm not ready to interview for a few months"... which might mean get lost.... so it looks like I'll be staying in academia for the moment and heading back to the US, as at least one job offer is in progress. Having a nice black box market predictor means I'll be able to focus more on my job (of saving the world :)) and stick all those savings from my salary (especially if I am living in a cheap place like Troy) into the black box and out comes a multiple :) This has been the R&D period for the next stage while I've been between jobs. Actually since 1 October I've earned enough to live on from investing/trading but it is a bit erratic to say the least!
