As we're speaking anecdotally, I'll have to disagree...

... with you on a few of your statements here:

<<a lot of Hispanic immigrants to the US from countries get involved in criminal acts here, especially ones from
Central America>>

'A lot?' How many?

'Especially the ones from Central America.'

Really? Countries, please?

I suppose that I could use a great deal of education about when and how certain waves of LEGAL -- we're talking about legal only here, right? -- immigrants happened to immigrate here. Quotas? Special event-caused circumstances i.e. Southest Asians post-Vietnam, Cubans, Haitians, etc. On work visas? Education? Marriage to U.S. citizens? That's it, correct? Only three ways to immigrate.

How about Nicaragua, for example?

Another of my anecdotal experiences with 'these' first generation immigrants, now US citizens, is a delighted observation that some right in Austin, Texas, are some of the happiest people I see, who ALSO are running their own successful businesses -- same as the Ismaili Muslims I described here upstream.

Construction. Landscaping. The building trades. As well as retail -- restaurant owners, for instance.

My observation of their children is also quite contrary to your note as a lawyer defending? or prosecuting, would that be? the 'younger ones (who) get involved in gangs.'

The Nicaraguan Americans I know have children in college; some are growing their parents' businesses -- learning the ropes, and with their excellent language skills in English, have become valuable sales and marketing 'personnel.'

They love the U.S. That enthusiam translates well to potential customers.

Anyway, are you speaking of illegals?
